Spain is one of the frontrunners in the ocean energy sector, with well-established testing centres, leading technology developers and a strong local supply chain. This strength has been recognised in the recently published Spanish Marine Energy Roadmap that sets a target of 40-60 MW of ocean energy deployed in Spain by 2030.
National and regional R&D funding is already contributing to some of those MWs, but more effort and better coordination between regions and central government is needed to support the sector’s transition to commercialisation.
ETIP Ocean and APPA Renovables have joined forces to bring you this webinar about the R&D funding available for ocean energy today and what is needed to ensure reaching the Roadmap’s target.
